The Major Superior and the Prefect of Apostolate of the Delegation of Cameroon made visits to the formation houses of Claretian Missionaries in East Africa.
The visit began in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Novitiate, in Ngong, Kenya. The community has 10 novices from Kenya, Tanzania Uganda and Cameroon (Moise Moumassou, Fru Clovis and Jacques Edouard Okogo Behono). It was a very welcoming community . We noticed that coincidentally the noviciate community was praying for our communities in Cameroon. Their Novice Master Father Baskar India (fondly known as Baba Baskar) was so welcoming.
In the town of Moshi at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania, we visited the Minor Seminary. We have no students there but we met a very nice community. There are 12 seminarians there with 02 formators. The students are from Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya and South Sudan. The formators are from India.
In Martyrs of Barbastro Theologate in Morogoro, we met another lively community of 21 students with three formators. It is another very international community. We have two students there: Ernest Manga Elono and David Onana. The community has members from Kenya, Uganda, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, USA and India.
It was a very wonderful visit of animation. It was so nice to meet people from different races and colours all united under the Claretian umbrella.
Let us pray for our young missionaries on formation.
